Seagate GoFlex on Windows 10

I have a Seagate GoFlex network drive that is connected to my router by a cable. It has a USB port to share a printer. On Windows 7 and formerly Windows 8 I could share it no problem. However, on Windows 10, I cannot find the printer plugged into the Seagate device.

Has anyone figured out if the USB port is usable with Windows 10?

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern, and we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

I suggest you to go to the manufacturer’s website of your USB drivers and check for any updated drivers available there. If so, try to install them and check if it fix the issue.

If no updated drivers available then try installing the available drivers in compatibility mode.

Refer the steps:

  1. Download the Drive from the manufacture’s website, Right click on the setup file and select Properties.

  2. Click the compatibility tab, tick the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows.

Hope the information helps, if you have any further queries, feel free to post. We are here to assist you.

Thank you.

It appears one is not offered. This appears to be an issue from the manufacturer.

SOLUTION:

I'm on Windows 10 64 Bit Laptop (Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro).

Go to this page:

http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/external-hard-drives/desktop-hard-drives/goflex-desk/

On the left hand side under DOWNLOADS then download the GoFlex Software:

http://www.seagate.com/files/www-content/support-content/external-products/goflex/_shared/downloads/GoFlex_BundledSW.zip

It worked Brilliantly for me without issue and setup the X Y Z drives for me to be viewable and accessible from the windows explorer window...

Let me know if this helped you guys out.

Also I noticed the software had 2016 written on it so I guess Seagate eventually made the software compatible :)

Ta, Kyle.
