Screen placement when opening an app

When I open an app from my desktop and the app opens, the right side is covered and the entire screen when opened needs to be moved to the left. I cannot use the arrows on the right side to move up or down and can hardly see the red X to exit the app.

Hi Jim Wisneski

Welcome to the Microsoft Community

I understand your problem. When the application window is opened, the position is incorrect, causing the right side to be blocked and the control buttons cannot be seen.

Keyboard shortcuts to move the window:

Use the win key + arrow key combination to adjust the window position

Click the window to make it active

Press Alt + Spacebar to open the window control menu

Press M (for "Move")

Use the arrow keys to move the window to the appropriate position

Press Enter to confirm when completed

Drag the window:

If you can see any part of the window, hold down the title bar and drag it to the center of the screen

Reset the window position:

Close the application

Reopen the application while holding down the Shift key

Contact me if you need anything else.

Best wishes
