For your first issue, please make sure that the HDMI cable is working properly. Since the monitors were replaced, it is possible that your HDMI cable is not connected properly. You can use a different HDMI cable to connect individually
with your newly acquired monitor and connect it to your laptop to see if it is being detected. If it works, you need to check the Y splitters as it can sometimes cause issue. If incase it is a driver problem, you can reinstall your graphic drivers and check again if the problem still persist.
