Screen flickering in some applications

I connected my graphics card (GTX 1060) to 2 monitors via display port and one of the screens has a light flickering. However, this flickering only appears in different applications like Spotify, Fortnite or Planet Coaster. I have the latest version of Windows and also the latest graphics driver installed. I already have uninstalled and reinstalled these applications, but this has not resolved the problem.

Does anyone know how to solve the problem?

Thank you

What type of connection are you using for the display: HDMI, Display Port, DVI?

Its possible there might be an issue with your adapter or cable connection. You could try nudging the cable to see if it works or change out the cable.

Press Windows key + X
Click Device Manager
Expand Monitors

Right click the monitor that keeps freezing
Click uninstall

Restart your computer then check if its working again properly.

You can also try lowering the screen resolution of the monitor to see if that works.

Hi Nils-Cailliau

My name is Sarah Kong and I am an independent adviser that is here to try and help you with your issue.

Update your display adapter but before you do that disconnect and remove that second monitor.
To do that unplug the second monitor
Then right click start and go to device manager.
Under monitors right click that second monitor and remove it.
Then go to display adapters and right click and remove it.
Reboot.
once logged back in add back monitor
see if that works.

Thank you very much for your fast replies.

I tried everything you proposed, but unfortunately it didn't solved the problem.

However, when I use Spotify, and open the task manager, the flickering suddenly dissapears and I can scroll fluently through my song-library. Once the task manger closed, the flickering is back.

Best regards.
