Can we get your event viewer logs to start?
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file to Onedrive or a file sharing service and put a link to it in your next post
Navigate to:

One solution you may wish to consider is to just remove Roxio.
Windows 7 will burn CDs and DVDs. There are very few functions that Roxio offers that are essential.
Roxio causes a lot of problems in my experience and is a significant drain on resources. If you use Autoruns, you would be amazed how many programs it starts up every time you start your computer. Most people see an improvement of performance when the remove Roxio and few ever find anything they need to do that they need it for.

Hi and thanks for trying to help - sorry but wasn't familiar with onedrive or sharing or creating links so had to find some help and hope that I have created the file you need correctly. I have not upgraded to Windows 8.1 so I didn't continue to the regedit part but have used and done that before so I'm vaguely familiar with that function.
