Roxio has stopped working - A proplem caused the program (Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite) to stop working correctly error in Windows 7

I read the posting for this Roxio error but it was for Roxio 12 - I do not have the same directories shown on this question so can't try this solution. My software is no longer supported so I don't know where to turn. I have searched the Roxio site and everywhere else I can think of but have found no solutions for this particular software - perhaps it's just too old for me to be able to find a solution but am currently unemployed and do not have $ to purchase a newer version and was hoping beyond hope that someone out there perhaps still may have this software and perhaps encountered the same problem. I have reinstalled and uninstalled a dozen times to no avail. I have tried all the compatibility options offered in the windows system, including the one for Vista, and none of them make a difference. I still end up getting this same error every time I run the program. I have had the program and used it for years until a computer crash caused by a virus but at that time was running Windows Vista. After the crash and subsequent hard drive replacement due to the virus I was forced to change operating systems from Vista to Windows 7 and now cannot get past this error.  Anyone who is using this program Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite and has encountered this problem and discovered a resolution?

If you have updated to win 8.1 and you get the error message "the system cannot find the file specified" it is a known problem.  The work around is to edit the registry.  If you are not comfortable doing this DONT.  If you are, backup the key before you do
Press Win+"R" and input regedit

Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels. Delete "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic"

One solution you may wish to consider is to just remove Roxio.

Windows 7 will burn CDs and DVDs.  There are very few functions that Roxio offers that are essential.

Roxio causes a lot of problems in my experience and is a significant drain on resources.  If you use Autoruns, you would be amazed how many programs it starts up every time you start your computer.  Most people see an improvement of performance when the remove Roxio and few ever find anything they need to do that they need it for.

Hi and thanks for trying to help - sorry but wasn't familiar with onedrive or sharing or creating links so had to find some help and hope that I have created the file you need correctly. I have not upgraded to Windows 8.1 so I didn't continue to the regedit part but have used and done that before so I'm vaguely familiar with that function.

Hi and thanks for trying to help.  Actually the function I used in Roxio is the video copy and convert and then I select compilation.  When I make copies of shows or movies for someone and they don't necessarily need one show/movie per dvd and we're not making a disc needing quality perfect I select several shows/movies and put the most that will fit onto one dvd. I'm not sure if you can do that in Windows 7 - I know I have ripped and burned cds/dvds before but Roxio does the compilation function very well.  Like I said, I never had any problem with it when it was loaded in Vista but then when had to change to Windows 7 is when problems started. Actually it did ok for a little while and then started messing up and giving this same error every time and crashing. Thanks again.
