Ripping Music on Windows Media Player

I've been trying to rip a CD on Windows Media Player. It will rip a few songs but a few of them won't rip. Windows Media Player tells me that it won't perform the rip. I also am getting a 0x80004005 error message when I try to play the songs. I have tried a couple Command Prompt commands to no success.

I understand the problem that this problem has caused you. Encountering the 0x80004005 error usually means that the Windows system has encountered some kind of permission or file access problem, which may affect the normal operation of Windows Media Player when ripping CDs.

Some tracks in CDs may contain digital rights management (DRM) protection, which may prevent normal ripping. This is usually a mechanism to prevent unauthorized copying.

At the same time, Windows Media Player is not a professional music ripping software, so there may be some unexpected problems during the ripping process. I suggest that you can try some other professional software to test whether this permission problem still occurs, such as Exact Audio Copy, dBpoweramp, etc.
