restore the windows defender system try icon

hi!

after tried many antivirus i decided to stay with defender, but the windows defender system tray icon seems disappeared. I have windows 10 pro 21h1, tried to run SecurityHealthSystray.exe but work untill the next reboot after that the icon is a ghost. tried also with systray policy with zero result. can you help me?

I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. See if the system file check or an image repair does the trick with the Windows defender icon. Here's how:

Run System File Checker
1) Press Windows key + S, this will open search
2) Type cmd, run command prompt as administrator
3) Enter this command and press enter: sfc /scannow
4) Wait for the process to finish and reboot your computer.
5) Check if the issue still persists.

Run windows image fix.
1) Press Windows key + S, this will open search
2) Type cmd, run command prompt as administrator
3) Enter this command and press enter: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
4) Wait for the process to finish and reboot your computer.
5) Check if the issue still persists.

Reboot your computer after performing the above steps. If it doesn't help, I suggest trying out a repair upgrade of windows. Here's a guide on how to do that:
