Removing previous owners login and PW from an HP ENVY 20 with WIN 10

I inherited an HP ENVY 20 Desktop and need to change ownership. (email and PW) I do not want to dump and reload all my software.
Hi 1972

It would be best to create your own user profile on that PC and delete the old profile . ..

Before you do that, any Microsoft Store apps or Microsoft Office, if associated with that old account may not work on a new user profile

Also you would need to copy out your data from that old profile temporarily, then copy that into the new account

Ideally all this should have been done when you inherited that Desktop

Open the Settings App

Go to Accounts - Family and other People

Click 'Add someone else to this PC'

Follow the prompts to create a new account

Close the settings app

Log out of that user account

Log into your new account

Click the Start Button, type netplwiz and hit Enter

In the resulting dialog, select the old account and click 'Remove'

That's It, your new Admin Account will replace the old account

Thanks for your feedback.

This is related to a challenge I have.

I have @40 PCs running windows. Each time a teacher leaves or they "move" a computer I scramble to update in my network.

I have multiple situations where the user is an old teacher name.  If I create a new profile for the new incoming teacher, how do I keep all my software the same for example:

SIS Schoolwise

AVAST

Office (non download versions)

I do not want to reload all the software. In the permissions I show all users have all permissions.

Can you advise?

Am I going about this in the wrong way?

Should I go in as a "superadmin" ?

Thanks,

Susie Smelser
