Remove unwanted email from Local Administrator account?

I'm on Windows 11 LTSC specifically to avoid unwanted AI and online accounts when i just wanted an operating system that ran a local administrator account, it did work for awhile but recently upon recovering my truly ancient and previously hacked/compromised hotmail account from the early 2000s i now see in my windows settings page said email address is now tied to my OS admin local account.

How do i remove it?

Why was this added without my permission to what is meant to be a local only, not online account?

Will this finally make me lose my sanity in wanting to run a simple local account that never speaks to the internet on a simple OS without AI or advertising malware and move to linux?

Answer

Hello,

Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info

Click on Sign in with local user instead. follow the steps and finish the rest.

(If you don't see the "sign in with a local account instead option, click on "Stop signing into Microsoft apps automatically" first, then relaunch this page. )

Restart the computer (Do Not skip)

==============

If you don't have any of the option above at all, do this instead:

What you can do is -

Type regedit in the search on the taskbar to launch Registry editor,

Then go to the following two locations (one at a time):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\UserExtendedProperties\

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\StoredIdentities\

If her email is listed in those location, right click and delete.

Restart the computer (don't skip).

Now, go back to Registry Editor again, this time go to these two locations:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\

Look for "IdentityCRL" and delete it.

Restart the computer and see if the Msft account is removed.
