I had already tried to remove Bing thru IE, but the only option that I had was to disable Bing. I could not actually remove it.
Thanks for your answer.

This is easy-peezy. The setting is in your web browser. Just tell us: Which web browser are you using?

Setting another search provider as the default is all you need to do. There is no reason to disable or remove Bing.
Internet Explorer > gear icon > Manage add-ons > Search providers > if you don't have Google or another listed go down to the bottom and click on "Find more search providers" Add Google then right-click > Set as default. If Google isn't the search provider you want, which is?

OK, I've added Google as my default search provider thru IE. Thanks again.

And, are you also wanting to change search providers in Edge?

this post was confusing. the question was "How do i remove bing as a search engine". here is my issue... i 'uninstall' it as it says and choose google or some other search engine (and this is in EVERY browser on a PC running windows 10, latest version). i updated my hosts file, and low and behold, every windows patch and update and you guessed it, BING IS BACK! and i do it again. how do i get rid of this damn thing?
