Remote Desktop in Safemode with network

Quick Question Does Remote Desktop work in windows 7 Safe mode with networking?

If it does not work is their a way to create a script that would reboot the system in safe mode, run a specific batch file to disable a feature of a antivirus software then reboot the system into normal mode?

Trying to save my self 3 hours of transit to do a 15min job...

No, it does not (which you could easily find out for yourself by checking if the service Remote Desktop Services is active while in Safe Mode. AFAIR, TightVNC runs while in Safe Mode, which would allow you to do things.

Try creating a scheduled task that runs as the system account and executes your bat file.

I honestly doubt this would work as what the batch file is doing is disabling the tamper protection for the antivirus software by adding entries into the registry. These codes have to my placed in the registry while the antivirus tamper protection is not running.

If it is possible to modify the registry before any of the sophos services run at boot before we even get a GUI and the Windows Login Screen.

Maybe you should contact Sophos and ask how to recover the tamper protection password. (I assume that you are the Sophos administrator for your organization and that somehow the password was lost.)

If that using the tamper protection password would work that would be great, but because sophos has failed to start putting the tamper protection in sophos does not work as it is not communicating with sophos central to authenticate.

The code that I am using was given to me by Sophos Support as this machine fails to update sophos on a regular basis about every two weeks. I have gotten the process down to about a 20-25 min process to disable, uninstall and reinstall the software where if I was to contact Sophos Support it would be 90 min.

I'm trying to automate this a little more to save me from having to go to the office which takes me 90+ minutes to there and back.

I am looking at TightVNC as an option because it will run in safe mode.
