Remote Desktop Connection Stopped working windows 7 professional 64bit

Recently, I have been having trouble connecting to my main office computer (Destination computer) using remote desktop connection (RDC) from my Toshiba laptop. It worked great for about a month, then suddenly stopped functioning.

The laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit.
The destination computer is running Windows 7 Professional 64bit.

I ran the "netstat -a" in the cmd to check if the port was listening, and it was (I set up a different port other than the default for added security). I had RDC set up to connect to the office computer by using my routers public IP and the port number. It worked for a while, then one day wouldn't connect.

I have tried disabling all anti virus (Norton on the home computer, MSE on the Laptop), a system restore on the laptop to a time when RDC functioned, resetting the router and modem, and triple checked all the basic settings, all to no avail.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Do you recall any changes made to the computer prior to the issue?

I did not make any changes to the computer. I will try the other link posted. If you have any toher advice though, it would be greatly appreciated.
