Remote desktop connection error

Hi,

I just downloaded the Microsoft Remote Desktop software version 10.2.1817.0 from Microsoft Store on my Windows 11 laptop. I am trying to access a Windows 10 machine. I added the Windows 10 machine by the IP address in the Remote Desktop software, however when I try to connect to it I get the following error:

You have been disconnected because another connection was made to the remote PC.

Error code: 0x516

Extended error code: 0x0

Activity ID: {e8cae588-4d28-4c8d-943f-f01be02d0000}

Any insights will be great. Thanks in advance.

Joe, you should not have to get a new password for TeamViewer every time. I have the set same password on all my relatives computers so I can easily connect. See here how to set a permanent password for TeamViewer for unattended access: Secure unattended access to devices - TeamViewer Support

Joe -
I prefer Teamviewer. But they are almost exactly alike and work equally well.

There's a rare issue where if you connect from a domain like a university computer TeamViewer may challenge that you are a business user even if you're not, which I realize you aren't and I am not either since I also only use it to connect to family computers. That's why I give both because AnyDesk doesn't do this and is entirely on the honor system.
