Reliability index dropped to 1 on new PC

Should I be concerned that the reliability index for both my brand-new Windows 10 machines is down to 1 within a day?

I had a seven-year-old machine till recently where the index was around 1, and thought that it was due to its age, and the fact it had been upgraded from Windows 7 to 10.

But I was very surprised to discover that two new PCs would have indices of 1.

I used to go to shops to see what the display machines were like, and, sure enough, they had very low numbers as well.

As far as I can make out, if I neither use the computer nor install software on it, it will remain at a perfect 10.

Here is a typical screen shot from my desktop PC (five days old):

Vivaldi’s crashes only happened that once, but even on days without it crashing, the index is at 1. Here’s my month-old laptop:

And here is one of the more common errors:

This tended to be the error on my old PC as well, from what I can recall. The clipboard text for the two most common errors follows:

Overall, I don’t have any serious problems while using the computers, but are these issues we should be concerned about going forward? Thank you.

Hi Jack, I am Dexter, an Independent Advisor, here to help you.

In my experience, the Reliability Monitor is just a tool to help you indicate issues occurred with a graphic interface, from the screenshot you've attached, it's evident some errors were occurred such as Vivaldi, the index value will go down with incoming error events, so it's just an assist for helping you to notice thing's going on with the system.

The conclusion is if you know what error occurred and without other problem, you should not worry about this index value.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let me know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Thanks, Dexter. I took the Vivaldi screenshot because it was so anomalous, but the regular errors are the ones I posted at the end of the original post, to do with ntdll.dll. Those are a complete mystery to me. They have happened on my old PC and now, two brand-new ones. Why are these errors happening and what do they mean?

I suggest you do an SFC fix first, please refer to this article:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/929833...

You could try this on one of your computers and see if the ntdll.dll still get errors.

And I think you may have common programs installed on all of your computers, and one of them cause this error but not the Windows system.

Thank you, Dexter, I’ve run both and I’ll report back and see if the Reliability History improves.

As I mentioned, I see poor reliability scores on demo computers in stores, all suffering from DLL errors. Whatever the common programs are, they must be very common.

Hi Dexter, I hate to report back like this to someone who was trying to help, but the errors are more numerous now after running those fixes.
