Regediting in windows 7

Hello,

I have been trying to delete some registry files through regedit (also tried shortcut, launch as admin) but everytime i try to either delete the entire file, or adjust its value i get the following errors:

upon trying to delete:
"Unable to delete all specified values"

upon trying to delete its value:
"Cannot edit <filenamehere>: Error writing value's new contents."

I did not encounter these problems with my previous computer, running xp.
Any ideas on how to get this sorted out?

May i note these registryfiles are of not vital for windows to run.

Thank you in advance.

Answer

Some permissions were denied to me. I had to remove the denied permission (edit value). Thanks
