Received a "Someone might have accessed your account" text for a Microsoft account I don't own.

A few minutes ago, the phone number that normally sends me Microsoft 2FA messages randomly sends me: "Microsoft: Someone else might have accessed **insert random censored outlook email here**. Recover at **official microsoft support link**.

I don't own this e-mail.

Possibility that someone accidentally put their recovery phone number as mine?

Hi Bradly105YT,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

People can enter any email address or mobile number when they log into a Microsoft account, which means it's possible for someone to mistook an email address or mobile number. If you are sure the email address is not yours, don't bother with this message.

However, for security reasons, you can use your usual computer or your mobile phone to visit the Microsoft website and log in to the personal information page. Click "Sign in Activity" in the picture below to view the details of your login date and IP address (including country/region). You don't need to worry about account security if it's all logged in by yourself.

Hope it helps! If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Best Regards,
