This relates to a failed Win 11 update today. Whenever I click on retry, it fails to retry. I have been onto the Device Manager under "sound, video and Game controller" - Realtek (R) audio and looked at 'events'. There is a list of configurations and the final one states "device not started" with the following guidance
Device INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0274&SUBSYS_10280A06&REV_1000\5&d144696&0&0001 had a problem starting.
Driver Name: oem78.inf

Problem: 0x0
Problem Status: 0xC00000E5 That means there are 2 problems 0x80070103 and 0xC00000E5
I've seen many queries on similar problems but no obvious solution. I've checked for errors on SFC/SCANNOW and DISM but can find none. I have disabled my anti virus. I can't delete the installation or roll it back as it hasn't installed.
I should add that the older driver works and when I try to update it I get the message that I have the latest driver; but it's not, is it? Otherwise why would Microsoft try and update it?
I've seen comments that as long as the existing driver works then one should ignore the failed update; so what is the point of the update then?
I want to solve this problem please for my own satisfaction and any help would be appreciated.
