Realtek Audio Console Missing From Windows Store/Unable to Install

Dear,

I wish to feedback as well as seek any advice as recently I tried to do a clean install of Windows for several PCs.
Usually when I configure and install Windows, I will also install drivers from manufacturer website.
In the past after I install all the drivers especially audio drivers, the Realtek Audio console will install automatically through Windows store.

Unfornuately these PC that I did a clean install of Windows with the manufacturer drivers, the Realtek Audio console was not installed
automatically. I had to either try to install through a Windows store link but on one PC it fail to installed while another was able to install.
I'm not sure what has happened either the Realtek Audio console has been removed from Windows store.

Or there's a updated version which has not been published yet, please kindly take note I even through install older
audio driver but still the same issue.

* Changed to a question.

Hi

Welcome to Microsoft community.

From your description, it seems that one of your computers has been successfully installed, but the other one failed. This suggests that there may be some issues with some of your computers. In order to assist you better, could you please provide me with the error message you encountered during the installation failure, such as specific error codes or screenshots? This way, I can provide you with more effective help.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

Best regards

This is not a microsoft store issue.

You have to install DCH drivers (the new post 2018 windows drivers) using the installer exe (often called setup.exe). You CANNOT install DCH drivers by device manager.

This Intel DCH faq also applies to realtek audio drivers.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000058298/graphics.html

After you install your computer manufacturer's realtek audio driver, then run Microsoft Store --- the realtek audio console will be "automatically" bought for you. You cannot install other computer manufacturer's realtek audio driver onto your computer (including Intel's website --- they are for Intel branded NUC mini computers only).

As mentioned respective drivers are install from manufacturer website example Gigabyte motherboard so I install audio driver from
Gigabyte website.
As you mentioned once I open Windows store it should install but it didn't so I don't know why.

So I had to use a link in order to install the Realtek Audio consosle, it's been days now.
If I had another machine that need to install Windows I will try again.

If you want the technical answer, installing via device manager method will not install the extension inf file.

Only using the installer exe will the extension inf file installs the 3 realtek software components. If you don't have these 3 software components installed, then you will have problems getting realtek audio console from the microsoft store. Errors in the installation will bring you these problems --- sometimes asus and msi tell people to kill their internet access and reinstall their drivers.

Image

The "realtek hardware support application" software component is the "bought" receipt --- the last 3 digits of the realtek HSA will correspond to the version that will be downloaded by the Microsoft Store. 11.0.6000.302 HSA will "buy" you realtek audio console 1.44.302.0.

I finally managed to get some screenshots so everyone can understand the issue.
It is not I don't know how to install drivers as drivers should be easy to install.
Download the driver file and run setup, the Realtek audio panel should automatically install.

It's not about whether you know how to install the driver or not.

It's because your initial title/question is vague and included realtek audio console not on the microsoft store.

Realtek audio console is considered a private app, so it doesn't show up in the microsoft store "search". You CANNOT search for it. It is to prevent people trying to install the app on a computer with "legacy" realtek audio drivers (i.e. those that came with realtek hd audio manager). All those 1 star ratings on the Microsoft Store saying that they couldn't install the app --- that's because they have "legacy" audio drivers.

So if it is "missing", then it is because the end-users didn't install the new DCH driver correctly or that they have legacy audio driver (and shouldn't install it anyway).

Surely if it was so "easy", then there would be no need for Intel to make a FAQ telling people that it would cause "minor to catastrophic issues" if you don't use the installer exe.

The screenshot is clearly telling you that the problem is on THEIR end. If your motherboard provides an offline realtek audio console app installation download, then install it the offline way. You can also try to clear the microsoft store cache or reset your microsoft store app.

It's a fresh install so I doubt there's a need to clear MS store cache.
Some manufacturer does provide download for the Realtek audio console but it just a link to open the download page
on MS store.

Hopefully someone notice this and fix this problem, like you mention.
Realtek Audio console is a private app only when user install the correct driver than it will install.
Generic audio driver and audio driver from MS update may not have the audio panel.

How would I know which motherboard you are talking about, you didn't say anything about it.

But your strix z390-f realtek audio driver has the realtek audio console version 1.36.23.0 offline installation file.

Image

This is how you reset your microsoft store, how hard is it for you to try a single line command.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/i-can-t-find-or-install-an-app-from-microsoft-store-ca530de4-cd19-f728-dae7-7368fab8df4d

Did you even look at the screenshot I posted --- the windows update screenshot clearly showed 11.0.6000.302. This is how you get a new version of realtek audio console. Microsoft pushes the 11.0.6000.302 via windows update and then microsoft store will pull 1.44.302.0 realtek audio console app.
