RDP from Windows 7 to Windows 10 issue

Hi,

I have windows 10 Pro V1803 Build 17134.48, and I have three other PCs with Windows 7 SP1.

Both computers are up-to-date with latest patches from Microsoft.

Firewalls are disabled on both sides

I was able to RDP from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and from windows 10 to windows 7 with no issues.

After the windows recent update from MicrosWindows10, I can not RDP from windows 7 to windows 10 any more....

I still can RDP from Windows 10 to Windows 7 but I cant do RDP from Windows 7 to windows 10. it gives me error that the computer is not in the network or RDP is not enable.

** Please note that I can RDP from another computer with windows 10 to windows 10 with no issues...

Remote Desktop Connection might turned off on Windows 7. In this case, make sure that it is turned on. To check if Remote Desktop is set up on Windows 7, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Control Panel.
  2. Click System and Security.
  3. Click System.
  4. On the left pane, click Remote settings.
  5. On the Remote tab, under Remote Assistance, check Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer.
  6. Under Remote Desktop, check Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secure)
  7. Click OK.

Afterwards, you may now go ahead and start the Remote Desktop connection.

Thank you for your answer, but these are all essential troubleshooting which I did in the first step.

The issue was MS update as usual ....

recently Microsoft releases an update without testing the effect on older windows.

The issue was KB4103721 on Windows 10, and as soon as I installed it, everything started working again with no issues
