I also am having issues with the Windows 10 Quick Assist disconnecting.
I have been using this for about a week with mixed results. when it works, it's great, but about half the time it connects, I see a screen for a few seconds and then the connection terminates.
I have found very little on the topic other than similar issues appear to go back at 4 years.
Quick Assist app Fails ...
Quick Assist not working for me
I have just made some of the changes suggested, but it's not clear exactly at which end these changes are needed.
Incidentally, there is a
fix for the UAC prompt
I am using "Allow UIAccess applications to prompt for elevation without using the secure desktop" which seems to work OK (when it connects)
FWIW, I am supporting about 12 users and MS teams, Zoom and TeamViewer all fail to allow control of system elements like DevMgmt so for Tech support are junk (all work fine on Win 7). Users are generally connected on the corp LAN with a VPN, but I have not
really done any validation if on or off the LAN may be relevant. All users are Win 10 PRO V 1909. I have tried and successfully connected to a Win 10 Home (v1909) client to control same. This was not on the corp LAN. Did not test reverse.
I deleted all the files using the paths in the 3rd post which seems to remove more than the clear button in File manage. The internet options fix was already off, so no joy there. Fix 1 relies on the user which is a few hrs away.
This is an essential tool for any one doing windows 10 technical support and is more critical to have working now than ever. MICROSOFT PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FYI, MS Windows Remote Assistance is also another viable tool which will work and an support UAC control, however it does not support multiple monitors very well and is a bit more cumbersome to make connections than Quick Assist
