Problems installing 2021-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5003637)

Hi All

I have issues trying to get my device to update the following 2021-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5003637). I have tried the trouble shooter and it comes back with system is fine.

When i try to install update it tells me its installing them fails

Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x8007000d)

How can i fix this?

Do i need this update? is there anyway to skip it if i don't need it.

Thanks

Sam

Good Day SamHowie,

My name is Carlo, I am an independent advisor and a member of the community just like you.
I also use a Windows 10 computer. Let's work together to to sort this out.

Here are the steps you can try.

You can visit this link and perform the Advance troubleshooting steps.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/tro...

Once done , go to this link and download the tool to reset the Windows Update Components.

https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/24742-reset...

After following those steps, restart your computer and try to check and install updates.

If the issue persists, you can perform Repair Upgrade ,it will repair and replace damaged system files. This will also update your computer to the latest version of Windows.

Step 1: Download the Microsoft Media Creation Tool.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

Click "Download Tool Now"

Step 2: Run MediaCreationTool.exe.
Step 3: Select "Upgrade this computer now".
Step 4: Select "Keep personal files and applications".
Step 5: Let it install

Hope the above information helps. Please let me know how it goes.
Have a nice day ahead and stay safe.

Sincerely,
Carlo T.

Those were probably the best edvice I've found so far but so far the (KB50036990) still won't install.

So far I have

1. rebooted and tried again (lots of times)

2. run the Reset_Reregister_Windows_Update_Components

3. reboted and upgrade - no go

4. run the Windows10Upgrade9252

plenty of restart and upgrades installed but still fails on the (KB50036990).

I've been at this for a total of 12 hours now.. sort of tired of trying.
