Hi Greg,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.
It sounds like the error message you're encountering might be related to the printer's scanning function. The message "GET/eSCL/ScannerStatus/HTTP/1.1" typically appears when there's a communication issue between the printer and the computer.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:
1. Restart Devices: Start by restarting both your printer and your computer. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve communication glitches.
2. Check Connections: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your network and that both your computer and the printer are on the same network.
3. Update Firmware and Drivers: Visit Brother's official website and check for any firmware updates available for your printer model. Also, make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated software can cause communication issues.
4. Firewall and Security Settings: Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer that might be blocking communication with the printer. If the error disappears, adjust the settings of your security software to allow communication with the printer.
Disclaimer: Temporarily turn off real-time Microsoft Defender antivirus protection in Windows Security. However, keep in mind that if you do so, your device may be vulnerable to threats. So please turn it on immediately once issue fixed.
5. Reset Network Settings on the Printer: On your Brother printer, navigate through the settings to reset the network settings. Reconfigure the printer's network connection as needed.
6. Check for IP Address Conflicts: Ensure that the printer's IP address doesn't conflict with other devices on your network. Set a static IP address for your printer to avoid conflicts.
7. Reinstall Printer: Remove the printer from your computer's list of printers and reinstall it. Sometimes, reinstallation can resolve underlying communication issues.
8. Contact Brother Support Again: Reach out to Brother's support, providing them with detailed information about the steps you've already taken and the persistence of the issue. They might have specific troubleshooting steps or firmware updates tailored to address this problem.
I hope this helps. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Your Sincerely

Thank you for that link, it finally helped me find where that option is hidden. In fact it has nothing to do with Brother or HP or anything else, it's a Windows 11 design decision which at this moment is a flaw because they're failing to tell anyone about it. Here's how to fix the error message:
Most advice tells you to go to the printer's Installed features and turn off notifications. But this is wrong. Windows 11 has a Print server settings page which has an Advanced tab that has the notification checkmarks in there.
You don't need to "call your printer manufacturer." You just need to know where this is. I really can't thank you enough for mentioning that article. I was able to find the same panel even though our printers are wildly different manufacturers and even different setups. Thank you so much!
I've been seeking this solution for about two months, so I'm going to have my say now. Directed at Microsoft. I had to keep my printer off unless I was using it and even so I burned through expensive photo paper with ridiculous Get messages that I couldn't prevent from printing.
If Microsoft thinks it's doing any good with "power saving" then they should consider the reams of chemical photo paper they've destroyed with this farce.
Windows 11 in general, is very badly designed with random bits of settings hidden in out of the way places, several clicks deep, and then you also have to click "Change Advanced Settings" so they can insult your intelligence, while you're frustrated, one more time, before you apply the solution. The interface seems designed to anger you.
They need to unify these settings back into Control Panel. That's what Control Panel is for, remember that CP is already the "user" version of control, GPedit and regedit are the superuser or IT controls. These duplicate "Settings" are a travesty. And the UI for Windows 11 keeps changing so how-to documents are already out of date! One has to find the rare one off document that is accurate (like the one above), and it's rarely indexed and found by google. I don't know why. Maybe the wrong ones were once popular?
Microsoft and Windows in particular are a flagship American brand and so far Windows 11 has been stable, as far as, no BSOD, but incredibly difficult to configure even the simplest tasks like setting up a printer. A rethink is required into their assumptions.
