Printer icon greyed out on the Share tab on the ribbon of the explorer

Hi

I have a user who uses the Printer icon to print files straight from the Documents file explorer window (Windows 10). However it seems the Printer icon is greyed out when trying to print certain files. In this case the user cannot print a .txt file or a PDF. Office files are ok, the Printer icon is not greyed out when selecting those.

Is there any way to fix this so the printer icon is visible?

Thanks

What type of PDF viewer is that file icon associated with?

Have you tried changing the default PDF viewer to Edge or Adobe Reader and see if you can print directly from File Explorer?

Its possible the program assigned as your PDF viewer does not have the appropriate filter driver to talk your printer so it can print from File Explorer.

What are some of the other programs affected?

I noticed html files are also affected by this, but Adobe Reader assigned PDFs are not.

Hi

I will ask the user to try these steps but why would this also occur with the .txt file also?
