Printer HP DeskJet 3630 Series (Copy1)

I keep getting these messages that can't be fixed internally.    These problems were found running Trouble Shooter.   Printer HPC 7B785" (HP DeskJet 3630 Series) (Copy1)  Cannot be contacted over the network."   TS said this could not be fixed.        Also this: Resource (192.168.1.2) is online but isn't responding to connection.   TS said this problem was "detected"

Below Categories don't really fit.

Be gentle.   I'm 70 years old and loosing it.

Hi, Marv,

Why you're seeing HP Deskjet 3630 (copy1) is there was a corrupt uninstall of the HP software, Upon reinstalling the software a second printer icon appeared in Devices folder one being (Copy1).

I'd advise completely removing HP software from the system. Once it is removed, reboot the computer and reinstall the software. You should then see 1 printer icon in Devices folder.

Use the tool found in this document.

Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed

There is an HP Support Forum for clients that own HP products.

Did the reloading of HP software for printer.   Will print Word Documents.  Print Queue shows Printer Offline none of the items in queue have names as to what they are.   They are listed with generic names.                                                                                                                                                                      Will not print printable documents from internet.

Clear print queue

Go to Control Panel > Printers & Devices

Right click on the printer > Select See What's Printing

Click Printer in the menu

Select Cancel All Documents

  1. 1

Make sure that your printer is plugged into the power supply and turned on. Check the USB connection (for wired printers) or the wireless connection (for wireless printers).

  2. 2

If none of the above steps work, download and run the printing troubleshooter

  3. 3

If you’re still having problems, your printer may need a new driver. Right-click (or press and hold) the Start Windows logo Start button button, and select Device Manager. Expand Printers, find your printer in the list, right-click (or press and hold) it, then select Update Driver

Just updated or upgraded to Windows 10? Try these troubleshooting steps.

I'm not sure I can explain where I am right now with this problem.

1. Cleared print queue.   Canceling all documents.   Note: Was showing "Printers Offline".   Was not fixed at this point.

2. Checked for drivers.   Windows said my drivers were good.   Didn't need upgrade.

3. Have been running Windows 10 since original upgrade.

4. I am able to print.   I pulled up a saved Word Doc. and got it printed.  I'll try to tell you what this non-tech "knows" now.    As I got the doc. up.   Clicked left drop down box.   Hit "Print".  Printed doc.    Wanted to try again.  Diff. doc. It printed.    After other successful trials found out that the Printer Listed was HP DeskJet 3630 Series as the working printer.   Only Printer listed.  Right now anyway.

5. What I don't know about is that if a print job goes to the print Queue it will not print.   Says Printer is off line.    The printer listed for the job is HP DeskJet 3630 Series ( Copy 1). (shows offline)   Went to "Show what is printing".   Clicked and two of the "(Copy 1)" Printers is listed, each showing my two new print jobs in their Queues.   Also a HP DeskJet 3630 Series, which did not show a print job in Queue.   I had printed that doc. from Word.

6. Deleted the two docs. in the (Copy 1) printer queues.   Went back to "Show what is printing clicked on each one.   Dialog Box said something like couldn't find each one of them on network.

7. Can't figure out how to make HP DJ 3630 default printer.   Should be simple but my brain is fogged up right now.   Can you help.     I'll try again tomorrow.
