I have a strange issue that just happened. I went to print a shipping label only to see that it didn't print, yet I saw it in my print queue.
After some digging, it seems that my label printer was duplicated in windows 10. So I now have labelprinter and labelprinter (copy 1)
The job was sent to the original. but it seems that the original isn't actually associated with any hardware anymore, as when I unplugged power to the printer, copy 1 dimmed while the original one did not.
I deleted both printers, rebooted and added again and now it appears as copy 1.
I can print to this printer now if I reconfigure my application
But I can't explain why this happened but perhaps this is a result of "Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2" which coincidentally was installed today or maybe yesterday before I shut down and then finalized this morning when I booted up.
I attempted to rename/remove copy 1, but it says a printer with this name already exists.
When I check the properties. you can see I have a Printers and Print Queues in the type.
I don't know if I've ever had something like this happen before. Now that it's working I suppose I should just leave well enough alone.
But I just don't see how why this happened. As you can see the original "location" is on "USB Printing Support" while the copy one is on the actual printer. I have other printers on this PC and when I inspect the same properties, I do see both printers and print queues, but the location is the same.
