Printer driver not installing correctly on Windows 10

Upgraded from Window 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Computer and drivers passed the compatibility test but printers and scanner disappeared after upgrade. Two printers and the scanner re-installed fine but my Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printer does not install correctly. The driver is an old XPx64 one that worked on Win7. The install says it succeeded, but the printer shows up as an "Other Device" named USB2.0 high speed printer. As an "Other Device" it is not available to print. Epson does not have a newer driver and will not be making one. There are no generic drivers for this $5k, 44" wide printer. Have been through all the available troubleshooters. If I right click the printer icon in Devices and Printers and look at the driver, it shows no driver installed. If I try to update the driver from that location, I get an error message saying the INF is not digitally signed. Have not been able to find a work around. I know, Epson would prefer I just spend another $5k. I'm not ready to give up.
