Print to File (Word) or Save Print Output As (pdf)

I know this is a common problem - I won't even bother to describe it in detail but i can't find a recent thread.

Anyway, my printer is the default and Print to File is not checked in the print menu (2 common 'solutions').

I am trying to print documents related to my mother's death so you might appreciate how frustrating this is.

Thanks

Philip

Hi Philip,

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Open the old Control Panel (click your Start Button, then just type control and press Enter)

Set View to icons at the top right of Control Panel

Open Devices and printers

Right click your printer and choose Printer Properties

Select the Ports Tab of the resulting panel

Is that set to a Print to File Port?

If so, set that the correct port

If the above does not work for you, then the best option is to go to the support page for your printer on the manufacturers website, then download and install the printer drivers and associated software for your printer

If still have any difficulty or are unable to find the support page for your printer, what is the Make and exact Model No. of your printer . .

Thank you for your feedback.  I got as far as the final line...

Yes Print to File was checked but I wasn't certain what you mean by "If so, set that the correct port"

Could you clarify, please

Thanks in advance!

Philip

Hi Philip

Is that a wireless printer or connected to a USB port?
