Please help me to disable the gray boxes that appear at the top of the Windows 11 desktop

A group of floating gray boxes appear at the top of the desktop in Windows 11 when a window for any app is moved to the top of the screen. Please can anyone tell what they are, why they're there, and most importantly, how to disable them from appearing? It's another Windows annoyance feature, similar to imposition of forced (by Microsoft developers) "Recommended' list in place of the desired "recent files" list on the Start menu, and the now disabled (by Microsoft developers) Start menu's listing of installed apps.

I'm including a screen shot to make it as clear as possible. (I'm unable to get a screen shot that doesn't also include my browser window, which can be disregarded.)
Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi bwprager123, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

That's Snap Layouts on Windows 11. If you're not liking the feature, you may completely turn that off in Settings > System > Multitasking > Snap Windows

Or if you still want to use Windows Snap like in Windows 10 but hide the bar on top of the screen and the layouts, you may just uncheck the option "Show snap layouts when I drag a window to the top of my screen" (See the image below)

I hope this helps

Thanks. The second suggestion, turning off another intrusive Microsoft feature worked this time!

That is funny because I use it every time I open two windows on a desktop, I make that selection. If two windows are open, you can change how much desktop each one uses.
