Phone Link Error

I'm having trouble with Phone Link. I go through the pairing process and it seems to work on the phone but not the computer. It will give me a failed screen. If I close that window, a new Phone Link will populate, saying my phone is connected but the bluetooth needs to be repaired. When you click Begin Repair, it takes you to a screen that shows my device but doesn't let you do anything but remove it.

I have tried unpairing, forgetting device, all of that. And my bluetooth isn't the issue because I have bluetooth headphones connected fine.

Any advice?

Hello,  Brittany Smith5

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Thanks for your feedback, I understand that you're having trouble with Phone Link. To troubleshoot this issue, please try the following steps:

1. Make sure that your phone and computer are both running the latest version of Windows 11.

2. Check if your phone is compatible with Phone Link. You can find a list of compatible devices on the Microsoft website.

3. Restart both your phone and computer.

4. Try pairing your phone and computer again. Make sure that your phone is discoverable and that Bluetooth is turned on.

5. If the issue persists, try resetting your phone's network settings. This will remove all saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth connections. To do this, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset network settings.

6. If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your computer's Bluetooth settings. To do this, go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > More Bluetooth options > Remove everything and then try pairing your phone again.

I hope the information above can help you.If my understanding is wrong, please point it out, so that I can assist you better.

Hello,

So according to this link, iPhone isn't compatible. Yet it seems to advertise here that it is supposed to work with iPhone devices running iOS 14 and older, which mine does. So what's the right information?

Thank you for your reply. PhoneLink now supports iOS, but it also requires a higher version of Bluetooth functionality. If the Bluetooth version is too low, it may lead to connection failures. May I ask what Bluetooth version your computer has?

Regarding how to check the Bluetooth version, please refer to the following instructions:

Hello,

Since I last posted I made some headway. If I pair my phone and my computer WITHOUT using phone link, and then open phone link, it will show as connected and give me my notifications, texts, and calls. The current issue is I can’t seem to launch a call on the computer and have it stay on on the computer (aka talking through the computer mic for the call), it keeps routing back on the phone even if I choose the computer physically on the phone as a the source of audio output.

I recently upgraded my Bluetooth. I purchased this device to upgrade my Bluetooth:

Check this out on @Newegg:GLOTRENDS WiFi 7 BE8774 Triple Band PCIe WiFi Adapter Card, 5.8 Gbps Max Speed, 802.11be, Bluetooth 5.4, 320 MHz Bandwidth, 4K QAM, MIMO 2x2, Support Windows 11,10,Linux
