I created a new account because I wanted to change user folder name on my pc. Did all the necessary stuff but mistakenly deleted the new local account that I created and set as administrator. Now I want to clear the new account folder from my pc but to no avail. Any help?

Hi OPOKUKODUAH,

I am Dave, I will help you with this, I presume you are logged into the original account.

1
Did you change your original account to a standard account when you created the new account so there is no longer an administrator account?

Click your Start Button, then just type netplwiz and press Enter, does that utility open and is your original account listed as a member of the Administrators Group?

2
If your original account is listed as an administrator:

Download this registry file:

https://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tutorials...

Right click that registry file and select 'Merge', then confirm the merge, that will add a new entry (Take Ownership) to the right click menu in File Explorer.

Right click that user folder you want to delete and select 'Take Ownership'

Wait for that process to complete, you should then be able to delete that folder.
