In IE 11 & prior, you could install PDF Writer into Devices & Printers. When you printed to PDF from a document or from a web site, the pdf writer would open & you could save the pdf document anywhere on your computer and save it under any file name you wanted.
If you go to a site & it has a document in PDF format, there is no problem in saving it to any location on your computer and you can also give it a file name.
BUT
In Windows 10 Edge, you have a choice of Microsoft PDF or any PDF Writer you want to install. When you print to PDF from sites on the internet, or articles from the internet, you DO NOT have the ability give the PDF file a name and it always saves it to Documents folder in the library under the same name even if they are separate articles or copies of personal banking accounts. So if you do not want your new files to be overwritten, you have to change the filename each & every time and also copy it to the folder you want it in. This is a complete waste of time, especially for people who do a lot of research on the internet.
My conclusion to Edge is that it is faster, but only at the cost of missing functions and add-ons.
Among my family & friends, I'm the most computer literate since the MS Dos days, and they count on me when they have problems. With all the new problems and complexities of windows 10 and Microsoft Edge, I am telling them to switch to Firefox or Google until OR if Microsoft decides to correct the problems they have created.
