I have already tried the following without success:

  • Turned off fast start up

  • Set value of HiberbootEnabled to 0

  • Disallowed Realtek Controller to Wake-up PC

  • Reinstalled Windows 11

Can anybody advise me how to resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi, Mark Smith 365

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

According to your description, when you try to shut down your PC or put it into hibernation, it shuts down and then immediately restarts.

This seems to be an ROG laptop.

Since you have already tried to reinstall Windows 11, I will temporarily rule out the possibility of a system problem.

Did you use a clean install when reinstalling Windows 11? In some cases, third-party software may be affecting the computer's startup.

In addition, it may be a hardware problem. I suggest that you try to enter the system at startup, modify some startup settings, and then shut down the computer to see if it will automatically start. We guess that some minor problems with the motherboard caused your computer to automatically restart (for example, the BIOS cannot save settings).

We also recommend that you contact ASUS support. The support staff of the relevant laptop may also help you rule out whether it is affected by some programs that come with the computer:

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I actually performed a clean install from a USB. Following that, the restart issue still persists. In addition, I have no ability to connect to WiFi. WiFi icon isn't there any longer and my network adapter isn't in device manager.

Any suggestions on what to change on startup to fix restart issue? Also how to get WiFi back?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi,Mark Smith 365

The problem with your WiFi module may be due to a lack of drivers.

You can download the corresponding Ethernet driver/wireless network driver according to your laptop model on the ROG official website.

And if you still have this problem after reinstalling the system using USB, there is no setting that will cause this situation. We think there is a problem with the hardware.
