PC Health App error on Processor validation to upgrade to Windows 11

After running PC Health App it tells me my processor is NOT compatible for Windows 11...My processor is Intel Core I7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz. Can someone tell be why this is? When I look it up in the CPUs list it is there. Please help!

The processor is NOT supported. I'm sure you checked the wrong list.

If you wonder why it isn't compatible, I'll tell you in short. 7th gen processors and older ones (except a few 7th gen) do not support the security feature called VBS (Virtualization-Based Security) which is mandatory due to new security rules in Windows 11.

Many believe that it's because MS doesn't want to check the compatibility of such processors, but it's not true.

You can still install Win11 by bypassing the compatibility check but make sure you at least have TPM 1.2 to successfully bypass it: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/ways-to-install-windows-11-e0edbbfb-cfc5-4011-868b-2ce77ac7c70e (read the steps under the warning)

Like that, it's easy to malfunction a computer while it's hard to fix it.

Hi Mike5Tildsley-

I'm Kevin B. Windows user like you. I do apologize for the inconvenience, let me help you sort things out.

Your processor is not on the list of processors that supports Windows 11.
You may check the list here:

Windows 11 supported Intel processors:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardwa...

Microsoft usually offers the upgrade to those devices Microsoft believes are the most likely to successfully install the upgrade. If the computer passes the hardware requirements, windows updates will offer the upgrade in stages until such time that device is ready to install the upgrade.

You can reach out to your computer manufacturer to check/upgrade your processor to one that support Windows 11.

You can also stay with Windows 10 as it is still supported until 2025.

Hope this will help and have a blessed day!

Thanks,
Kevin B.
