PC freeze indefinitly after closing out of/alt + echap, alt + tab, or windows +d

When I am playing a demanding video game, if i alt + echap or other shortcut my screen freeze for indefinite time (the first time it happened I waited 1h and the screen was still frozen). It happens not every time i alt + echap of the game but like 1 chance in 5 and when it happens it won't happen until I shutdown the pc.

When the pc is frozen the game is still running (I can hear the sound of it) and can hear and speak to my friend on discord, the only thing who isn't freeze is my mouse, but I can't click and alt + f4 or crtl + shift + echap don't work. I tried crtl + windows + shift + b I hear the beep, but my screen goes black and the longest I waited is 30 min was still black screen.

The only thing I can do is force the shutdown by pressing the power button for 5s and my pc have no problem until it happen the next day

What I tried but didn't work :

it's in French, but the only thing I found, and it seems like good advice, I did everything but the 4

it includes driver update, Windows Memory Diagnostic, etc...

- I did a clean installation of the Nvidia driver with https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/...

Hi Maxime Hys,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on the original description, the device seems to be experiencing issues related to the random screen freezes..

When the problem doesn't occur in a regular cycle or in a specific way, it could mean a stability problem of some sort.

It could be an instability in the driver's interaction process with the system, or it could be an unstable power supply environment at the hardware level.

If possible, would you mind sharing more information about this issue with us?

Generally, you can visit the product support page of the hardware provider of the computer component (for example, the provider that sells the NVIDIA graphic card) to obtain some specific versions of drivers.

I will do it this weekend if necessary, dont have much time rn

Another question, when you say "screen freezes" it means the screen don't move for a short time and everything is okay after waiting, or it's for when waiting isn't a solution and is still freeze after a long time or both. (I'm not a native anglophone, forgive me if my English isn't perfect)

Hi Maxime Hys,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Is a reset a reset that retains some of the data?

Or is it a reset that completely erases all data?

Windows 11 has major changes compared to Windows 10.

One of the changes that may have a significant impact on gaming scenarios is usually virtualization or memory integrity, as gaming-related anti-cheat engines usually run in special kernel modes, while memory integrity is usually used to protect the device's kernel mode.

If convenient, we look forward to observations related to the different versions of the driver.

In addition to the specialized drivers provided by NVIDIA or the device manufacturer, sometimes a generic type of driver provided by Microsoft can also be an option that is tested.

Generic type graphics drivers will be installed automatically after the independent hardware vendor's drivers have been uninstalled.

(IDV means independent hardware vendor)

Or you can try to manually select a different type of driver.

Hi Maxime Hys,

The reset that preserves personal files may not exclude the possibility that a corrupt profile is causing the problem.

Kernel isolation-related page unavailability may be related to Windows Security-related service status anomalies, which may be a version-specific issue, or additional third-party applications may indirectly cause the problem.

These are some examples that might be relevant.

There is no need to perform any action on the kernel mode.

Generic types of drivers cannot compare to dedicated applications provided by the device manufacturer and may lack some customization or may not be able to take full advantage of the capabilities of the hardware.

It is a common step in narrowing down the scope of the analysis, and can at least be used to analyze whether there is a problem with the generic drivers or components built into the system itself.
