I would appreciate if anyone could help me out with this problem:
I made some changes to the ‘Balanced’ and ‘Power Saver’ Power plans like making the laptop never put sleep etc. A few days later, I realized that I am unable to restore any stock power plan (Balanced/Power Saver/High Performance) to its default settings.
-In the Power Options>Edit Plan Settings window (see figure), the option ‘Restore default settings for this plan’ that should below the ‘Change advanced power settings’ has disappeared.
-On clicking the ‘Change advanced power settings’, the window that comes up shows the ‘Restore plan defaults’ as grayed out.
I tried the following:
-I am logged in as Admin.
-I tried using the command line ‘powercfg –restoredefaultschemes’ in the Administrator Command Prompt. It said ‘The power scheme, subgroup or setting specified does not exist.’
Is there any way to get back the above option?
I am a non-IT professional.
I am using a Dell 2-in-1 Inspiron 11 3000 Series 3148 running Windows 10
Thanks in advance,
