Optimal screen resolution in Windows 10

I frequently get the message on my Windows 10 laptop that I do not have the optimal screen resolution however my system is set to the exact resolution that they suggest.  Why this constant bother and issue - starting to get old.
Just to confirm, when you right click on the desktop and select "Display". Scroll down in that pane to the "resolution" section. Does it say "(recommended)" beside your selected resolution?

If you do have that selected, then the message does not make sense.

Google for your make and model number + specs to find a page that describes the specifications for your device. Confirm that the resolution defined in the specs is what you are using on your monitor. If it is a third party monitor, then you have to find the native resolution for just the monitor.

I does show that I am using the recommended 1920x1080 with "recommended" in parenthesis after the resolution which is also the recommended resolution for this 1080 HD gamine Acer laptop.  Yes, I agree that the message makes no sense so I would like to find a way to stop getting that message and even more wonderful would be if the MSFT wizards could solve the issue. Every day I understand why I choose Apple for my main computing needs (notwithstanding the fact that my son is a director at MSFT).

Can you get a screen capture of the message box?

Is it a standalone message box or part of the with Windows "Notification" center? Does it look like a Windows system message, or possibly one from a third party program, like maybe something a video driver or maybe a video "control panel"?

Do you have an addin video card or do you just have the built in Video. In the Start menu search for "Device Manager". Then click on "Display Adapters". Is there one or two entries. The build in video will probably have a name something like "Intel(R) HD Graphics 520".

It is the standard Windows Notification system that has that as one of its notifications.  The others are new and valid and of course this one is not valid.  I just re-boot the system and did not get the notification so when I do I will cut and paste it, but it is definitely Windows.  There are no add-ons to this laptop.

I get the same problem as you. And this is very annoying indeed.

Did you ever find a way to get rid of this issue?

No, and it is one of the reasons that I purchased an iMAC having tired of all the Windows issues.  The sad part is that my son is a Director at Microsoft, but it is like pulling teeth to try to extract any help out of him - sort of like trying to get help from Microsoft!  :(
