Ondrive 1 Interrupted Action

Onedrive Problems... 1 Interrupted Action - "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem.

Error 0x800701AA: The cloud operation was not completed before the time-out period expired"

This is the Onedrive error I keep getting on my Surface Laptop Studio. I have files on demand turned on. When i double click a file that i know is sync'd and in the cloud it refuses to download to my laptop at home. The file is definitely uploaded and sync'd from my other computer at my office. The progress window opens and either the progress bar doesn't move, or it starts to download and gets to about 14%.

Then the error window appears after a few minutes.

It happened earlier this week and I thought i had fixed it by reinstalling Onedrive but the problem is back. I went through all the troubleshooting I could using Microsoft support. Resetting Onedrive didn't work. There has to be a better solution than reinstalling again. It seems like there's something else wrong. Are there things that could be going on with my Home network? I didn't change anything with it so i can't imagine there is. I have an Xfinity Gateway in case that information helps.

Hi SethRobinson2,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. I'm Mosken, let me help you.

According to your description, I knew that you encountered an error when downloaded files from OneDrive to your local, even if you have tried repairing, resetting, and reinstalling OneDrive, it only works for a short time. Is that right?

First, have you tried accessing your OneDrive from a browser? If not, I suggest you have a try, as this could help confirm it's the problem of OneDrive app itself or the network.

Also you mentioned your special network environment, you may try to use a different network environment (such as share the network of mobile phone to the computer, please note that this will incur extra charges)? If it works in different network environments, I suggest you check your gateway settings.

Then did you use any network proxy software when accessing OneDrive in your computer? If so, you may try exiting the software and accessing the same files again.

Alternatively you may use the command below to reset your computer network and this will not affect your gateway settings. Please run Command Prompt as an administrator ("Win" logo key + "Q", enter "cmd", select "Run as administrator"), and enter the following commands one by one.

netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

Below are some troubleshooting related to OneDrive sync, hope these will help you.

Fix OneDrive sync problems(work or school) (microsoft.com)

Fix OneDrive sync problems(home or personal) (microsoft.com)

The above steps are provided based on the information I have learned so far, and hope that could help you a little. If the problem still exists, please provide us a full PSR from the beginning, through the whole process, and until the error message is displayed, so we can further investigate.

Best Regards,

Mosken-MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
