Notification messages disappear before I can read them

I frequently get notification messages that slide in from the bottom right of my screen on my Windows 10 PC, but they slide out again and disappear before I can read them.

These are never in the Action Center, and do not light up the Action Center icon in the Taskbar.

These are not e-mail or SMS messages, and they are different from Calendar reminders, all of which I am able to read.

I have a suspicion they might be system information messages, something like Microsoft Defender wants to scan your hard disk, perhaps, but I can never read them, so don't know.

Is there some setting were I can slow down these appearances?

Thanks.

Answer
Press the Windows key and U, select Other Options, and increase "Show notifications for" from 5 seconds to whatever duration suits you. I find 30 seconds works well.
