No Features to Install Under Optional Features?

I tried to install an optional Japanese language pack earlier today, and was told to go to Settings --> System --> Manage Optional Features

and then click "Add a Feature"

When doing this, all that returned was a screen saying "no features to install"

I looked for possible solutions, but I could not find anyone else who has solved this problem apart from re-installing Windows 10.

So I re-installed Windows 10 Education Edition, just to be faced with the exact same issue as before...

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I would greatly appreciate it.

Same here. I want to install the ssh client, but get "no features". This is on a brand new laptop with all recent updates applied

I have exactly same problem. Trying to install OpenSSH Client (beta) but my "Optional features" list in empty.

Same issue - looking to install ssh not a langpack.  Fast track; recently completed a "fresh start" reinstall.

Get-WindowsOptionalFeature -online | ? { $_.FeatureName -like "*ssh*" } | FT

returns nothing

manage optional features > Add a feature

results in "no features to install"

any ideas?

fwiw, I just restarted and it showed up and installed. Not sure if it was related to the reboot or just time taking care of it (maybe the service was temporarily unavailable?)

I am having the same problem. The answer given (download the language pack manually) does not address the question asked. What is the cause and solution to "no features to install" appearing when trying to add optional features?

I found a solution here, posted by SoftDeveloper on 08 March 2016:

https://superuser.com/questions/1003359/unable-download-speech-language-in-windows-10

The ideea is to rename Windows Update in registry, stop Windows Update service, try download, and rename it back, start the Windows Update service.
