New SSD, same laptop, will I still have the license key on this machine?

My old SSD is no longer repairable and im planning to buy a new one to replace it. When I install a fresh Windows in my laptop, will I still have the license key to my newly installed Microsoft Windows? If so, how can I access it? I cant afford to buy a new license as Im struggling to make ends meet. And I dont wanna buy license key on some sketchy websites.

Hi, I am Van. I'll be glad to assist you today.

In general, if you activate Windows on your device, the license will normally be stored on the motherboard. As long as you are not replacing the motherboard, the license will remain on the device.

Just make sure you are installing the same Windows edition as the one previously installed on the new hard drive to avoid activation issues.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance. I will be glad to assist.
Van S.
