Hi Dai,
Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.
I understand the inconvenience caused to you. I will be glad to assist you for the issue.
I would suggest you to try the following steps.
Step 1:
I would suggest you to update your graphic card drivers and check if it helps.
You can update drivers from the Device Manager.
-
Right click on start button and click on Device manager.
-
Select Display Drivers.
-
Right click on the Display drivers and select Properties.
-
Click on the device tab and select Update driver.
Step 2:
1. Sign in to your Netflix account, go to "Your Account & Help", (top right-hand corner) then scroll down til you see either "Watching Instantly on Your TV or Computer" or "Manage Video Quality", the latter is what you want, change your video quality to "Good".
Step 3: Other remedies may be, but not limited to;
a. If running Silverlight, disable/turn off "Hardware Acceleration".
b. While running Netflix, right click the control bar and
deselect/switch off the "Allow HD" feature.
c. If running in Chrome Browser, type in the address bar, "about":"plugins" (without the quotes) and hit
enter.
Upper right hand corner click on "Details"
Any of the plugins that contain this "pep flash player", disable it. Usually it's the first plugin.
Hope it helps. If you need further assistance, please do let us know and we would be happy to help you.
Thank you.

None of this helped... drivers were already up to date.

I did not have any of these options available, I only found a Playback Settings options and tried both the low and normal.

You do realize I said the Netflix app, right? It plays fine on my browser, it's the Windows app that's closing on me.

It's a known issue within Netflix, I had a chat with someone there, here's what he said;
"
Netflix Dilian
I am not sure when we will have this fixed up, But I know we do work pretty fast when stuff like this happens. So just check back in peridoically with the App and see if we got it resolved or not.
"

Recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 a few days ago. I just went to install the Netflix app, which installed fine, but then when I go to open it it loads for a few seconds and then simply closes. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling it and rebooting as well. Any help??

You can update drivers from the Device Manager.
-
Right click on start button and click on Device manager. - (CHECK)
-
Select Display Drivers - THIS IS NOT AN OPTION ON MY DEVICE MANAGER!!
-
I do have a choice for "Display Adapter" but certainly when you say "display driver" you wouldn't mean "display adapter" because that would be imprecise and confusing to someone who is already having problems. So what should I do if my device manager does not offer "Display Driver" as a selection? (Yes, I am running Windows 10.)
