NetBanner 3.1 and Windows 10

NetBanner 3.1 will install in Windows 10, but it no longer allows changing classification category. When NetBanner is installed, it gives the option as to which classification the user wants to install. Unclassified, Secret and TS/SCI are the choices and any combination of the three may be chosen. If the user chooses an individual classification, it displays that banner, but if multiple classifications are chosen, it only displays the first one on the list.

On Windows 7, the user could change from Unclassified to Secret, etc. by either using gpedit.msc or by changing the DWORD value for classification in the registry. This program was supposedly a joint effort between Microsoft and the Air Force, but the phone number and email listed in the software as "Support Contact Information" are no good. Does anyone have any idea why this is no longer working, or if there is some other way to make the changes within Windows 10? We are running Windows 10 Enterprise Edition if that matters.

To configure classification of NetBanner in Windows 10 or SHB, perform the following:

1. As an administrator, open Group Policy Editor, gpedit.msc

2. Navigate to Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Control Panel>NetBanner.

3. Right-click "Classification" setting and hit "Edit".

4. Click "Enable" and under "Options", select the appropriate classification.

5. Click "Apply" and close the Group Policy Editor.

6. Restart your machine.

This does not work on my system.  The SHB I was given had the default as "Classification Not Configured".  Using GPedit or registry settings will not change the setting on Netbanner.

Where can I get NetBanner 3.1?  I have the 2.1 version and it does not work like that.  I can't find any way to configure it.

This did not work for me: NetBanner is not showing up under Control Panel.

My fix was to uninstall the banner program, reinstall and only select the classification level I wanted, then reboot. Not very user friendly.

FYI, I called the number on the "About" page for 690th IOG, it is not a current number and the person answering the phone said they have been getting calls about banners for 4 years. They didn't know what the right number was.
