Hi

Welcome to Microsoft community.

Windows Spotlight is a feature that provides a variety of beautiful and engaging lock screen wallpapers on your Windows device. If it's not working, here are several methods you can try to fix it:

  1. Re-register Spotlight: Open PowerShell as administrator and enter the following command:

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    This will re-register all system apps including Spotlight.

  2. Reset Spotlight: Navigate to

    C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets

    Delete all files in this folder. Then, navigate to

    C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\Settings

    Delete the settings.dat and roaming.lock files. Restart your computer afterwards.

  3. Check your settings: Go to Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen. Ensure that Windows Spotlight is selected under the Background dropdown menu. If it is, try switching to Picture or Slideshow, wait for a moment, and then switch back to Windows Spotlight.

  4. Run the Windows Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Store Apps. Click on "Run the troubleshooter" and follow the on-screen instructions.

  5. Check for updates: Ensure your Windows is up-to-date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on "Check for updates".

Remember to replace "YourUsername" with your actual username when following these steps. Always take caution when modifying system files or settings, and consider backing up important data before making any changes.
