My windows 10 laptop freezes

I use an HP Pavillion Windows 10 Laptop, which has an Intel Core i7 processor, 10th gen. It has 8GB RAM. This is a relatively new laptop, I have been using it for less than a year.

I noticed that the Laptop lags extensively upon startup: the apps in my taskbar take a while to show up. I opened task manager, and disk usage was shown at 100%, and it stayed so for a few minutes, before dropping. This was so, when I had no apps open at the time. I looked it up, and disabled the windows search service and scheduled disk defrag, as per instructions I found online. Still, the task manager showed 100% disk usage for a few minutes after startup, but the experience was a little better.

A few days ago, the laptop froze, 2 times, once at around 5 pm, and next at around 7 pm.

Today, again the laptop froze up, 2 times. Both times today, I was on youtube, with only Chrome and another app open. Ctrl+Alt+Delete wouldn't work, so I manually powered down the laptop. When it started up, I opened task manager, and this is what I saw:

I then disabled SysMain, and opened the reliability report, and saw this:

This is what I see when I click on each red cross:

Any advice??

Hi Dan, thanks for getting back to me!

The 100% disk usage is only seen upon startup. It persists for a few seconds, at most 1-2 minutes, and then returns to the low, normal range. I suspect that this is only normal, for disk usage to show up as >95% soon after startup?

My issue is that the laptop freezes, too frequently for an i7. I know that it is normal for a laptop to freeze once in a while, but THIS frequently? Also, the snapshots of the reliability report I have shared show a lot of abnormal failures. This is obviously not normal.

I need to know about what you think I can do to fix this issue of the laptop freezing and performance degrading.

FYI, the laptop is up to date, and an antivirus (ESET) is running. I have scanned for viruses several times, but no detections were found.

I will appreciate any help regarding this, thanks!!😁

Can you go to the task manager, under Startup tab and see if HPAudioSwitch is in the list of startup programs?

Based on your 1st screenshot there is an HPAudioSwitch that is causing your disk to go that high up. Please try locating it.

It is an app and located in the C Drive:

I have scanned it using an AV, but it doesn't report it as malware
