My router keeps turning itself off and resetting itself around every hour.

My router keeps turning itself off and resetting itself around every hour. I run a network diagnostic and it tells me that my internet connection between my modem and the internet is broken. Is there any way to fix this as it is extremely annoying?

Hi,

·        Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

·        What is the make and model number of the router?

Method 1: I would suggest you to place the computer in clean boot and check if any third party driver is conflicting:

 Note: After troubleshooting, make sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in Step 7 in the above KB article.

Method 2: You can also update the network card driver and check if it makes any difference:

Try resetting the router firewall settings and check if it fixes the issue.

Hi lonewolf19,

Please make sure that  your router's connections are secure (including power).

Try to gain access into your router's web interface, this is normally detailed in the manual included with the router and reset it to factory defaults.

If your router is wired, please try using a different network cable and see if that helps.
