Have you looked at the Control Panel>Sound>Recording? Is the microphone you want to use showing?

Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

Do a test with the generic driver and let me know if it worked or not first.

In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it from the results.

Select the arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand it.

Select and hold (or right-click) the listing for your sound card or audio device, then select Update driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.

Select the audio device whose driver you want to update, select Next, and then follow the instructions to install it.

--downloaded and iiinstalled new driver

--everything else that applied to me: default microphone, et

I CAN manage to use an exterior microphone, attached via the USB port. And since my problem started after using that microphone, I wonder if that caused the issue with the REalTek mic.

Hi ,

I see, you can see the model, you can type msinfo32.exe in the Windows search bar, open the search for the baseboard product and enter it here.

Yes, my settings look like the one in your graphic.

There is another (disabled) icon for "Stereo Mix" beneath the enabled REalTek icon, if that means anything?

Hi ,

To check according to the driver I need to know the exact model of your Lenovo laptop, access msinfo32, take a screenshot and post it here

Just FYI, in my System-->Troubleshoot-->Other Troubleshooter menu did not offer the option of REcordidng Audio. There was just one option, which was Audio. Clicking on RUN there did not solve my problem, and I don't even know if it was trying to test my Input/Recording. I have Windows 11, by the way.
