My pc wont stay connected to the internet.

Im not a very techy person and i need help. My pc wifi keeps disconeccting every 10 minutes or so and I know its not the router cause even when I switch to a diffrent router still does it and it started happening about 3 days ago after i installed the (Windows 11 2024 Update l Version 24H2) Update ive tried so many fixes even factory reset my computer and it wont work.

Hello Seth,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

It's likely a problem with the Wi-Fi driver or a compatibility issue after the latest updates.

Try updating or re-installing the Wi-Fi drivers:

1. Open the Device Manager.
2. Expand the arrow next to Network adapters.
3. Right-click your default Wi-Fi driver (usually Intel (R) wi-fi or Realtek), select Update driver, then select Search automatically for drivers. Follow the instructions to complete the update.

If Windows doesn't find a new driver, Uninstall the drivers. That Is,

• Right-click your generic Wi-Fi driver, select Uninstall device, select the Attempt to remove the driver for this device check box, and then select Uninstall.
• Once uninstalled, restart your PC.

If you are experiencing the same issue after restarting your device,

Type msinfo in the search bar on the taskbar, and post us with the screenshot of the system information window in your next reply.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.

Best regards,

Gunasekar N

To isolate the issue, let's run the gameplay in a clean boot environment and see if other services or drivers are causing the problem.

See "How to perform a clean boot in Windows"-
https://support.microsoft.com/help/da2f9573-6ee...

Important - Select Hide all Microsoft services first, and then select Disable all. Select Apply.

Let us know how it goes.

If the same issue happens in a clean boot environment, the problem could be with the hardware or with the drivers.

1. Reset Network Settings.
Go to start > Settings > Network & internet > Advanced Network options > Click Network Reset.

2. Flush DNS Cache.

a. Open Command Prompt (Administrator) Window.
b. Type or paste the commands below one by one and press Enter after each command:
Type netsh winsock reset and select Enter.
Type netsh int ip reset and select Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and select Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and select Enter.
Type ipconfig /flushdns and select Enter.
Type exit and click enter to close the command prompt window. Restart your PC and try connecting to your Wi-fi network

3. If you are still experiencing issues, you may have to roll back to previous versions of Windows 11.

• Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
• Under Go back to the previous version of Windows 11, click Get Started.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

If you're having issues with just one game, try reinstalling it to see if that resolves the problem.

Otherwise, you can try a repair install method using the Windows 11 ISO file. Usually, it is used to repair corrupted system files, apps, and even incompatible drivers on the system.

1. Download the ISO file from the Windows 11 Media creation tool.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

2. Once downloaded, mount the ISO file and run the setup.exe file from it.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the repair install process and see if the audio drivers are installed again.

To perform an in-place upgrade on the computer, refer to the steps mentioned in the article "How to run an In-place Upgrade with Windows 11" by "Lester BernardReyes".

https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/4d469147-2...

Let me know if you need more help.
