My pc won't boot into bios after restarting and pressing the bios key ( Windows 10 )

My components are: intel i7 9700K, 32 Gb of ram, prime Z390-P motherboard, Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 Ti, windows 10.

I am not able to boot into bios after restarting the pc and pressing the bios key ( the screen turns black instead of displaying bios details and boots to windows )

I tried removing the CMOS battery for 45+ min and then restarting the pc; restarting the pc from recovery -> advanced startup -> ..... -> UEFI Firmware settings; turning fast boot off and restarting but nothing worked.

It worked in the past to restart the pc and then enter the bios key but now the screen turns black after restarting ( no bios details are displayed ).

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Thank you!

Hi Alex12235. Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

The issue you are facing may be due to a corrupted BIOS configuration or update, this would have happened if you have had an accidental shutdown or restart while your PC was updating its BIOS or during the last visit to the BIOS, you might have accidentally changed a setting.

You don't have many options as this isn't really related to Windows but rather your Motherboard manufacturer so I suggest you contact your motherboard manufacturer. But I can give a solution which may or may not work, you can try to search up your motherboard model on the internet and look for the BIOS installation file and install it in your PC. Other than that, I don't think you have many options in the Microsoft Community.

The bios is not windows related it is part of the motherboard. Can you disconnect the boot disk and see if the options for the bios are displayed?

Hello, I'm Jan, and I'm happy to help you today. I'm sorry that you are experiencing these problems.

    1. Try plugging in the HDMI/Display cable in other ports. Some graphics cards will only display boot information/BIOS in a specific port.
    2. The processor and motherboard support integrated graphics. Try plugging the HDMI/Display cable directly into the motherboard HDMI/Display port. Then check if it shows the BIOS settings. If it works, the IGPU multi-monitor setting is likely enabled in the BIOS.

Hi, I was able to access the bios by temporarily inserting the display port cable directly into the motherboard instead of the graphics card.Thank you for the support!
