My PC technically still recognises my speakers, but won't play audio anymore (missing drivers)

My Logitech S150 USB Speakers show up as "USB Audio" in the "Other Devices" section in my Settings.

The volume buttons on the speakers can control the audio slider in my Audio Settings.

But crucially, since today, no amount of restarting my PC and switching USB ports has gotten them to work again. They work correctly on my laptop, so it's not the speakers.

I attempted looking for a way to download the apparently missing, relevant drivers manually, but the Logitech website offers no downloads for my model and all suggested solutions involve looking for the speakers under their actual name in the device manager.

But they show up as USB AUDIO, for which no drivers can be found by Windows 11

Hi Hannah.

Thanks for reporting this issue in Microsoft Community.

Based on your description and the screenshots, it looks like when you connect your Logitech S150 USB Speakers to your computer, the system detects the connection but recognizes it as “USB Audio” and says “Driver not available”, so you can't use the speakers to play audio. You have also tried on your laptop and the speaker works fine. We do understand your efforts to resolve this issue. Can you please check on your laptop if it is also recognized as “USB Audio”? Can you find a driver for it to work properly in your laptop?

Initially, it's a driver issue, and I checked the Logitech website, and I did not see any driver for your speaker. Therefore, please right-click on your “USB Audio” in the Device Manager, click Uninstall, and after uninstalling, restart your computer, your computer will automatically load the corresponding driver and install it. Check if the problem is solved after reboot.

If the problem still exists after reboot, you can install the driver manually by following the steps below:

1 Open Device Manager, locate your “USB Audio”, right-click, select “Update Driver”, and then select “Browse My Band Alarm for Driver”.

2 On the “Select from Computer List” screen, click “Let me select from the list of available drivers on my computer” at the bottom.

3 On the “Select a device driver to install for this hardware” screen, check to see if there is another driver you can select, if so, try selecting another driver and installing it to see if the problem is resolved after installation.

If there are no other drivers available for you, or if the problem is still not solved, you can contact Logitech's official support staff via the link below for more targeted assistance on Logitech S150 USB Speakers driver issues.
