My Laptop won’t start

I have an ASUS Laptop:

In the past days I’ve been trying to start my computer because, for some reason, it won’t start. I have tried the mayority of the option that the menu shows. I have not yet tried an external solution. Still, no solution.

The last thing I tried was using the command promt, guided by some other solutions found in the community, like: chkdks c: /r /f /v, but still no solution. I get errors and “failed” messages.

Is there any other solution I don’t know? Is the problem my hard drive? Do I have to consider taking my laptop to a technician?

Hope someone can help me. I would appreciate any feedbacks.

Hi xTofen,

Your hard drive could have an issue. On boot up, do you have a diagnostics option? Depending on the manufacturer it’d be a particular F key to get to it. You could do a test on the hard drive to see if it’s failing.

Next, Is there data on your machine you need off? If not, I think building media and reinstalling windows is our best bet.

Let me know about the things above and we’ll move forward!

Hi, thanks for your help.

I managed to enter in something called BIOS Utility, but I dont know what to do.

I’ve already deleted my files, but they are in the cloud. I don’t need any data, just want my computer to function. Also after attempting to restart it several times I get this:

Thanks again.

Cool BIOS screen! So that tells us info about the machine, as you can tell. If you look at the bottom right, you’ll see F7 Advanced Mode and that may lead us to a system diagnostics page. At this point though, I’m thinking it’s a software problem, and we should try to reinstall windows.

Do you happen to have a USB and another PC we can use temporarily?

The two links above are to the Windows 10 iso, and how to build the bootable usb.

You could also use these apps I like to build the media:

Watch out for ads on the sites that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

. Once you build the media, you’ll boot your laptop to it. you’ll elect to install windows. It’ll then go to a page where it shows you all your partitions, highlight and delete them all, until you have 1 unpartitioned drive, then click “next” and the install process will start.

Let me know!
